Information:
Okay so this is a confusing jacket. Buttons are usually associated with navy. 2nd pattern army cut though except the pocket shape differs from both (6.75” x 9”) and has a back yoke. Pockets on navy examples I see are an inch longer in length minimum. I’m going to price it higher than a normal army pattern jacket in the off chance it’s navy. It's just has a blend of details for both types of jacket. Gas flap and panel underneath collar are a lighter shade. Cheesecloth tag missing. Unique stamp on neck that has two potential meanings that I’ve and a few friends have theorized. The TOA could be either transfer of authority and shows the jacket was changed to use for reserves later in life or could be for the Table of Allowance and the jacket is set aside for reserves post war. No proof for either though. An incredible albeit insanely confusing jacket that has had me losing my mind all week. Check pictures and measurements before purchase.
