Fort Devens was home to the 10th Special Forces Group (outside of 1st Battalion) from 1968 until 1995 when moved to Fort Carson, Colorado. Cliff Nelson, president of the Trojan parachute club from 71-72, performed the first HALO (High Altitude, Low Opening) combat insertion over Laos in 1970 and was vital in their early HALO program.
