Information:

Aran, or Fisherman, sweaters originate in 17th century Ireland and grew in popularity in the 50’s and 60’s, appearing in Vogue magazine and pictured on Steve McQueen . A classic look, the stitch patterns would signify different meanings. The cable knit pattern on this sweater is the most popular and represents fisherman robes, meant to promise good luck and safety when fishing. There’s a small mark on the back of the left sleeve hem. I believe this is from the 80’s due to shorter hems on the sleeves at bottom while still being 100% wool. Very comfortable due to being worn awhile. Fits like a medium.
